For two years in a well known F1  motorsport company  responsible for development, test and maintenance of  C programs for the EURO-project, assets management, financial accounting, budget planning, etc. under SINIX (Siemens Unix)  using D-ISAM,  UNIX-shell scripting, sed and awk.  Other software used within the team were Visual Basic, C++, Perforce  and of course a lot of Microsoft (complex Excel applications, SQL).

In the EURO project responsible for the whole life cycle and was de facto project manager. Designed, developed, documented and tested, accompanied the implementation. Solved difficult problems.

For assets management maintained the continuance of a vital system implementing changes and new features in direct contact with the finance department of the company.

For a department store  chain responsible for software development of new functions and maintenance of existing features in a commercial subsystem dealing with the logistics of goods supply. The HW environment was IBM Mainframes with OS390 (MVS), batch and online Cobol II, DB2 (SQL), CICS, XPEDITER, JCL. Java was used in the project, too.

Design, Development and Test for Data and Program System Migration for an insurance application from BS2000 and Cobol to Windows NT and Oracle with PL/SQL and Developer (Forms, Reports,…) .

For a world-wide well known company, producing sports goods, responsible for design,  development,  test and documentation of changes and new features in a commercial subsystem dealing with international orders (order management). The operating system was VSE  on a system of IBM mainframes using COBOL II and Delta with DL/1, Datacom and a screen and printer format generator. Intertest was used for testing and debugging.

 

UNIX, Telematics

For a telematics company responsible for design and development of an automated  test tool for internal services ( administration of remote mobile users,  billing, etc. ).    The tested Programs were in C / C++ with Oracle under Unix (Sun Solaris). The Tests were programmed in a system of sed and awk scripts under Unix using the bash shell.

 

OS390 ( MVS ), COBOL II, SAS, Bank

For a well known world wide operating bank responsible for software development, test,  debugging , maintenance and documentation of changes and new features to the current accounts subsystem.  Millenium (Y2K) and EURO related updates.  Many mission critical every day programs  without change for 15 years had to be inspected and updated from COBOL to COBOL II. The environment was a complex network of IBM Mainframes with OS390 (MVS-ESA, ISPF, TSO, JCL, RACF,….) with batch and online SAS, COBOL II,  DB2 (SQL) ,  CICS, CA7 , Endevor, Fileaid, Selcopy, Abend-Aid, File-Aid, Intertest  and  PC’s (Microsoft).

For a well known bank responsible for the design, software development,  documentation, quality assurance (test, debugging) of a telephone banking subsystem Online server with performance, accesability and security concerns in a very complex and heterogeneous hardware and software environment. The Online server ran under Unix (SINIX) using C, openUTM, UPIC in a network of UNIX, BS2000 and Windows computers with client/server model and ORACLE (PL/SQL)  as a distributed data base. Project management  using Microsoft Project and COMPOSER (IEF)

For a  major (European) Tax Advisors’ Association  software development,  quality assurance and maintenance of  a program system for Income Tax and VAT as well as electronic (or disc)  tax statements (for tax advisors) and electronic (or magnetic tape) data flow to and from inland revenue.  The assurance of  very  good quality was of paramount importance.

A special challenge was the diagnosing and problem solving for  a corrupt ACCESS Application. 

The environment was complex and comprised IBM-mainframes with OS390  ( MVS-ESA,  ISPF,  TSO,  RACF,  Roscoe,  Panvalet ) with Assembler and COBOL, VSAM and DB2 ( SQL ) and CASE4  as well as Windows and OS2 with ACCESS and C++.

For a utility company  responsible for software development of new functions and maintenance of existing features in a commercial subsystem dealing with the measurement and billing of  power  (heat)  supply. The HW environment was IBM Mainframes with OS390 (MVS) with Cobol II, RPG IV , CPG, HL/I, DL1, CICS, XPEDITER.

For a  mail order chain (catalogue store) software development and program maintenance of  goods shipping subsystem.  Performance was an important aspect due to voluminous data. Very restrictive internal standards formed a special challenge. MVS mainframes with Assembler, Roscoe, Panvalet, Intertest, DB2  ( SQL ), TC300, client/server model.

Various projects for and under  the BS2000 operating system using the whole range of BS2000 options including internal ones “deep in system”.

Changes of and new functions for a User interface for BS2000-V12  Test/Diagnosis System with Assembler, IFG/FHS (interactive format generator), Formplag (Format generator) , AID ( scripting debugging tool ) , TDS (Test definition system), TOM (screen oriented interface to BS2000).

Quality assurance in a system with consequently applied software engineering methods with strict division of and well defined interfaces between design, development, quality management, documentation, system integration, roll out and customer usage  with milestones, version handling, problem reporting and solving.

Design and development of automated testing, applying tests to tested subsystems, reporting and diagnosing problems to development, assuring and declaring the fulfillment of predefined quality requirements. The tested subsystems were a part of SECOS (security in operating system ) namely GUARDS(object  access rights  control), SRPM ( system resources und privileges management ) and FACS (file access control system  )  using LMS (library management system), SDF-P (command menus), PULS ( problem reporting system ), ATS (automated test system),  HELGA, DAMP,  IDIAS ( internal diagnosis, dump and memory control and debuging tools ), IDA (scripting debugging tool ), OMNIS ( multiple access to operating system )

Quality assurance of a Transport Protocoll using APS Programming under PDN-Transdata with TERMSIM ( Terminal simulation tool )

For a well known global bank responsible for software development, test,  problem debugging/solving for Financial Data Exchange between BS2000 ( and  BS1000 ) mainframes. Critical and important security aspects. Complex environment with remote and local mainframes under BS2000 ( and BS1000 ) using Assembler, DCAM ( data communication access method ),  PDN-Transdata ( front-end processors )  with APS (Application programming system ), RCOM (remote communication method ), BS2000 Utilities. Maestro computers (Philips) were used for development and access to the Siemens mainframe network.  BS2000 system responsibility ( generation and administration ).
